Yoga is complex spiritual tradition with a history thought to extend over at least five millenia.
Yoga is the ability to awaken the mental, physical, and spiritual realms into a harmonious union. The idea that the body as a temple holds great truth as it is our individual center of perception and health. When we take the time to be with in our temple closing out the external world and listening, hearing, feeling what our temple is needing, ....(a good cleaning, a drink of water, nourishing food, support) our perceptive abilities become heightened, our abilities to interact with the world come with more ease, general overall health becomes recognized. Much of how western culture faces the world is through a blurred haze of fast paced busy busy busy. Recognition through this western filter tends to occur when the temple has fallen to into dis-ease. A yoga practice brings recognition and awareness to the temple, allowing the practitioner to presently address the undercurrents.
